The work aims at the development of durable, smart and functional polymer materials and composites. These are produced from chemically modified natural and bio-based, as well as petrochemical raw materials or their combinations. From the very beginning, we made it our goal to ensure that the new polymer materials can be fabricated with sustainable technologies. When designing component structures, we follow the principles of lean and resource-saving process chains. Furthermore, efficient scalability and recyclability approaches are being pursued for the interdisciplinary development of materials, technologies and component structures.
