The properties of multiphase polymer systems result from the interaction of different materials at interfaces or interphases. The understanding of the morphological properties in relation to the structures and processing steps provides the basis for high-performance polymer materials that are ideally tailored to the application. The Multiphase Systems Cluster bundles the knowledge from comprehensive data-supported mechanical, chemical and physical characterization methods over several length scales for targeted design of the interphases.
