Availability of certain media may be ascertained by checking the research OPAC (digital library catalog) or by placing inquiries with members of the library staff. You can use for your OPAC research the following link: https://open.loc.ipfdd.de .
Borrowing media is only possible for IPF employees.
Lending titles borrowed in your name to external students or doctoral candidates is prohibited, as they are the property of the IPF (see library regulations).
If a title you need is not available in our collection, we are happy to request it from another library via interlibrary loan - the loan periods of the external library apply here!
If you need a title immediately and you are a user of the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB), you can search the SLUB catalog here.
We offer you the possibility to borrow different technical devices for in-house use. Our equipment includes:
- notebooks including bag and network cable
- projector
- webcams
- laser pointer and
- 1 conference system (room microphone).
To be able to offer everyone these possibilities we kindly ask you to send us a short e-mail to the following address with information regarding the technical equipment you would like to borrow and the time of duration, too:

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
All technical devices can be borrowed for 4 weeks maximum. If a technical device is needed longer than the timespan mentioned, exceptions are possible and must be recorded by the library staff.
You want to lend one of our technical devices for 4 weeks or more, please, fill out the following form beforehand and submit it to the mail address mentioned above.

All services related to reprography are available only to IPF staff and visiting scientists.
We are happy to assist you in printing off your academic thesis, as well as binding it. You can choose for your copies between a hardcover or a softcover.
hardcover:
The pages of your thesis get a padded linen-hardcover. Your choice of color: black or dark blue. Regarding the paper thickness you can choose between 90g/m² up to 120g/m². If you are unsure what to choose, here some information: If you want to print off your thesis double-sided, it’s best to choose a thicker paper such as 100g/m², if you want to print off your thesis one-sided, the best choice is thinner paper with a grammage such as 90g/m².
You want to present your thesis in our binding? The finishing touch is the hot-foil stamping in gold or silver. Now the viewer knows whose work is in his hands.
softcover (thermal binding):
A softcover binding is a thermal binding that allows us to put your academic work into a certain shape. The back is made of a colored cardboard (charcoal, dark blue or black) whereas the front is made of a clear cover. This allows everyone to see the title of your work.
Besides the printing and binding of academic works we also offer a wider range of printing other documents such as i.e.:
• IPF inside (brochure printing)
• program flyers and leaflets
• posters (only up to A3!)

We offer additional reprography services as well. On offer are:
• lamination of documents (up to A3)
• cropping of documents (up to A3)
• scans.
