Abstract:
The study of nanoscale objects is impossible without adequate experimental tools. Recently, there has been a remarkable revolution in the availability of experimental techniques in this study, where new synchrotron and neutron sources are the most visible indicators for outsiders. The main focus on this project is to develop a toolbox of standardised methods to analyse nanostructured materials, particularly those capable of addressing size distributions and morphology of soft materials.
Furthermore, the working group will develop new experimental techniques, such as improving and automating existing methods, and fostering the necessary theoretical and software tools. The long-term goal is to transfer the necessary instrumental knowledge to the market, focusing on techniques suitable for standardised analyses. The main targets of WG1 will be specified in the form of a working programme, including activities such as organising workshops and conferences which will be detailed on a later stage.
