Technology Platform: Cross-scale Polymer Processing

The Cross-Scale Polymer Processing platfrom's purpose is to expand the potential of the IPF's technological capabilities by linking competencies and infrastructures for the production and processing of polymers on different length and time scales while promoting solutions for the circular economy and closely linking research with applications.

Why?

Translating polymer design into scalable applications is a major challenge. The platform bridges this gap by connecting knowledge across scales to drive innovation in performance, sustainability, and manufacturing.

What?

The platform focuses on:

  1. Predictive multiscale modeling
  2. Scalable processing workflows (e.g., extrusion, 3D printing)
  3. Cross-scale characterization
  4. Collaboration within and beyond the institute

How?

Through an expert network, shared infrastructure, and a knowledge-sharing framework that blends experimental and computational tools—supported by joint projects and workshops.
