Title Plastic composites containing carbon nanotubes: Optimisation of processing conditions and properties
Date 16.04.2008
Number 15361
Abstract Composites of thermoplastic polymers and carbon nanotubes show a high potential for conductive and static dissipative materials with a balanced property profile. For industrial application of such composites, melt mixing is the method of choice. In this contribution examples are presented regarding the influence of content and type of carbon nanotubes as well as the mixing conditions in a laboratory compounder. In addition, the change in conductivity during melt annealing and crystallisation is discussed.
