Paper "Poly(2-alkyl-2-oxazoline)-heparin hydrogels - expanding the physiochemical parameter space of biohybrid materials" published

The new paper Poly(2-alkyl-2-oxazoline)-heparin hydrogels—expanding the physicochemical parameter space of biohybrid materials by Dominik Hahn, Jannick M. Sonntag, Steffen Lück, Manfred F. Maitz, Uwe Freudenberg, Rainer Jordan and Carsten Werner presents hydrogels that are formed of heparin crosslinked with of poly(2-alkyl-2-oxazolines) (POx) with different alkyl side chains. Showing distinctively different swelling and temperature responsiveness, they allow temperature-controlled release of signaling molecules and cell adhesion scaling with the hydrophobicity of the POx component. These biohybrid hydrogels, combining glycosaminoglycan-derived biofunctions with tunable and switchable physicochemical characteristics of POx are published in Advanced Healthcare Materials.
