Compliance means ensuring adherence to the law through certain measures. In a narrower sense, this means legal conformity and compliance with the law by the institute and its employees as well as "integrity, honesty and business ethics".

The Executive Board, with the advice and assistance of the Compliance & Governance unit, ensures that business is conducted in a legally compliant and honest manner and also ensures the necessary employee conduct. These measures must be suitable for detecting or preventing violations and can be enacted, for example, in the form of internal rules and guidelines or are also prescribed by law.
