STEEP UP Workshop Highlights Advances in Molecular Materials and Organic Electronics

On October 6, the IPF hosted the STEEP UP workshop “Molecular Design Meets Self-Assembly: Pathways to Organic Electronic Devices,” attended by 42 participants from Germany, Belgium, Poland, and France.

The program featured presentations by researchers from the STEEP UP consortium and invited experts, covering recent developments in the design of π-conjugated dyes, their organization in the solid state, and their integration into electronic and optoelectronic devices. Specific topics included the modeling of fluorescence and excited-state absorption, the control of supramolecular structures at interfaces, and new insights into device architectures for organic optoelectronics.

The workshop was organized as part of the final phase of STEEP UP, an international M-ERA.NET research project coordinated by the IPF. The project brings together expertise in supramolecular modeling, organic synthesis, advanced characterization, and organic photovoltaic device studies, with the aim of developing organic dyes with tailored optical and electronic properties.

STEEP UP was selected in the Joint Transnational Call 2022 of M-ERA.NET 3, an EU-funded network (Horizon 2020 grant agreement No. 958174). The project was co-financed by public funds on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
