Abstract Miscibility and mechanical properties of natural rubber (NR) based non polar synthetic rubber blends were described in relation to the molecular structure of the rubber. The miscible blend was prepared from NR and butadiene rubber (BR)having 32.3% 1,2-units. The lower critical solution temperature (LCST) phase behavior was found for NR/BR blend, even when the blend contained significant amount of gel fractions. In contrast, the immiscible blend was prepared from NR and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR).
