Professor Albena Lederer Receives Postgraduate Supervision Award
Professor Albena Lederer has received a Postgraduate Supervision Award from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. The award was presented at the university’s 2026 Research and Innovation Excellence Awards ceremony on October 15. It recognizes academics who have successfully supervised at least three PhD candidates through to graduation.
Professor Lederer is Head of the Department of Advanced Macromolecular Structure Analysis at the IPF and holds the SASOL Chair in Analytical Polymer Science at Stellenbosch University. Through her work at both institutions, she supports early-career researchers from diverse scientific and cultural backgrounds and promotes their collaboration with international research institutions and industry partners.
