Dr. Quinn A. Besford Receives 2026 Zsigmondy Fellowship

Dr. Quinn A. Besford, leader of the research group Functional Polymer Architectures at the IPF, has been awarded the 2026 Zsigmondy Fellowship by the German Colloid Society.

The fellowship recognizes his research at the interface of colloid, interfacial, and life sciences, particularly his work on the interaction of polymeric nanoparticles with biological media and precise physicochemical sensing.

Dr. Besford received the award at the 53rd Biennial Meeting of the German Colloid Society, held at the University of Bayreuth from September 30 to October 2, 2026.

The Zsigmondy Fellowship is named after Austrian chemist Richard Zsigmondy, who received the 1925 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his pioneering work on colloidal systems. It is typically awarded every two years to outstanding young scientists in the field of colloid chemistry.
