Sahika Inal Selected for Alexander von Humboldt Professorship – Advancing Bioelectronic Materials Research at IPF and TU Dresden

Bioelectronic materials and systems enable interfaces between living organisms and electronic information technologies, opening radically new perspectives in medical technology. Sahika Inal, a leading international scientist in this field, has been selected for the 2026 Alexander von Humboldt Professorship. 
The successful joint application by TU Dresden and IPF highlights the cross-institutional dynamism and innovative strength of the Dresden excellence research hub.

Sahika Inal is currently in appointment negotiations with TU Dresden and IPF. If these negotiations are successful, the prize will be awarded in 2026. 
Her appointment represents a unique opportunity to strategically expand research activities with significant translational potential across both institutions.
