“Mensch, Roboter!” - IPF at the Interactive Exhibition at the COSMO Science Forum Dresden

Whether at home, in medicine, in care, or in industry, robotics already shapes our daily lives far more than many realize. It takes on an increasing number of tasks, relieves us, and is constantly evolving: robots are becoming safer, more flexible, and increasingly responsive to their surroundings.
But what role should robots play in our lives - and what do we need in order to trust them?
The new interactive exhibitionb “Mensch, Roboter! – Robotics from Dresden science”” at the COSMO Science Forum Dresden, opening on October 2, 2025, addresses exactly these questions. Explore in a playful way how robotics research in Dresden looks and how it already connects with our everyday lives.
The IPF is also presenting two exhibits this time:
Exhibit 1 – Robotic Hand with Multi-Matrix Composites
This prototype robotic hand uses Multi-Matrix Composites with silicone sheathing, combining flexibility and strength for precise yet gentle gripping. The innovative material design opens new possibilities for safe human-robot interaction.
Exhibit 2 – Hydrogel-Coated Implant for Parkinson’s Therapy
This implant features electrodes with a hydrogel coating that improves conductivity and durability. The coating reduces scarring and is intended to prevent long-term rejection in Parkinson’s treatment. At the exhibit, visitors can explore implantation themselves using a silicon brain model.
The exhibition is free of charge and open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
