Abstract
|
Polycarbonate/single-walled carbon nanotube composites were fabricated by three different methods: melt-extrusion, coagulation and lamination. The SWCNT material was taken from different sources, arc discharge and laser ablation. Additionally, triple composites consisting of polycarbonate, single-walled carbon nanotubes and carbon fibres were prepared. From the composites the conductivity as a function of the dependence of the nanomaterial loading was recorded. The results show a contiguity to the properties and purity of the filler material and of the fabrication technique. A percolation threshold of below 1 wt. % loading in polycarbonate could be achieved reproducibly.
