Thermal analysis and rheological characterisation of polymer materials

Fields of work

The thermal analysis and rheology equipment in our laboratories enables extensive characterisation of thermal, thermomechanical and rheological behaviour for the entire range of polymer materials. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), thermal mechanical analysis (TMA), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and rheometers are available.

Equipment

  • DSC q2000 (TA Instruments): Temperature range from -100 - 500 °C, Heating rates from 0,1 K/min up to 100 K/min, optional Modulation Mode (MDSC), autosampler, sample pan press Tzero
  • TGA q500 (TA Instruments): Temperature range from RT up to 1000 °C, Heating rates from 0,1 -100 K/min, optional modulation mode, Atmosphere in Nitrogen or environmental air, platinum and ceramic pans, autosampler
  • TMA q400 (TA Instruments): Temperature range from -50 - 360 °C, Heating rate from 0,01 - 200 K/min, Force from 0,0001 - 1 N
  • DMA q800 (TA Instruments): Temperature range from -90 - 550 °C, Heating rate from 0,1 - 20 K/min, Force from 0,0001 - 18 N, Frequency range from 0.01 - 200 Hz,
  • Ares G2 Rheometer (TA Intstruments):Temperature range from -150 - 600 °C, oszillation mode (0,05 µNm - 200 mNm) and steady shear mode  (0,1 µNm - 200 mNm)
