“Ligand-exchange procedure” developed in our group for external initiation of KCTP was used by the preparation of hairy particles. Monodisperse silica-core organosilica-shell particles were prepared by modified Stöber method. Surface-initiated Kumada catalyst-transfer polycondensation of poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) was performed from organosilica microparticles that resulted into PFO brushes with densely grafted PFO chains with a significantly enhanced propensity to adopt planar ordered conformations (β-phase).
