
HR Excellence in Research
The European Charter for Researchers, also called the Charter of Science, is a catalog of general principles on the rights and obligations of researchers and their funding agencies. The Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers sets out principles and requirements for the appointment and recruitment of researchers. The implementation of the Charter and the Code of Conduct takes place in a HRS4R certification process.
The European Charter for Researchers deals inter alia. with the following topics:
- recognition of the profession
- career development
- appreciation of mobility
The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers addresses, inter alia, with the following topics:
- setting principles
- Selection Criteria
- Hiring and appointment after graduation
In January 2017, the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden e.V. committed itself to the EU Commission to begin the certification process (Letter of Endorsement). Based on a thorough analysis (gap analysis), an Action Plan was prepared and submitted to the European Commission for review in 2017. The measures laid down in the action plan will be implemented step by step and the associated achievement of objectives will be evaluated internally after 2 years and externally after 4 years following receipt of the certificate "HR Excellence in Research".
