General information

It is my pleasure to invite you to the 10th European Symposium on Polymer Blends in Dresden which takes place in the tradition of successful meetings in the series. Previous symposia were organised in Bruges (1984 and 2005), Strasbourg (1987), Cambridge (1990), Capri (1993), Maastricht (1996), Mainz (1999), Lyon (2002), and Palermo (2007).

The symposia were attended by researchers from universities, research institutions and industry not only from Europe, but from many countries worldwide. A high number of young participants were always present and emphasis was given to poster sessions with lively discussions. Reviews are presented by plenary and keynote speakers, but also contributed talks are presented at high level. The symposia can truly be considered to be outstanding events in the field of polymer blends.

The 10th symposium will be organized in 2010 by the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden and hosted by the Technische Universität Dresden. Again the symposium is intended to be the meeting place for academic researchers and industrial experts, bringing together basic and application related topics. In particular, we encourage young researchers to present their work.

Major topics of the meeting will include:

  • Theory, computational methods, and modelling
  • Processing, morphology control, and properties
  • Blend interfaces and interphases
  • Nano-structured and nano-filled blends and copolymers
  • Bio-related and functional blends

Most important aspects and recent developments of blends, alloys, and (nano-)composites will be covered. This includes both fundamental research and application related product developments.

The conference will take place on the campus of the Technische Universität Dresden (Hörsaalzentrum, Bergstraße 67).

We hope that we can welcome you in the pleasant city of Dresden and that you will actively participate in the symposium.
