Pretreatment methods

Most polymeric materials have a low surface energy and therefore poor wettability. In addition to appropriate cleaning and adhesive or coating selection, pretreatment to increase the surface energy and the associated improvement in wettability is absolutely necessary for durable bonding or coating. In addition to a UV/ozone system and low-pressure plasma, the IPF also has an atmospheric pressure plasma system available as a pre-treatment process.
