Abstract Definition: Graphene–rubber nanocomposites are the elastomeric materials which are developed by the use of graphene or oxidized form of graphene sheets as filler materials in soft rubber matrix.

Graphene is a two-dimensional carbon allotrope consisting of single layers of SP2 hybridized carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal honeycomb lattice. In graphite these layers are attached together with a space gap of 0.335 nm. Graphene is a unique material as it possesses a combination of different superphysical properties which is not known to very usual to other materials.

Encyclopedia of Polymeric Nanomaterials
ISBN 978-3642296475
