Abstract The conferences EUROFILLERS are rotating biannually among various countries in Europe since 1995. The EUROFILLERS series has emerged as the leading international conference of fillers for polymers and filled polymers
The first EUROFILLERS conference was held in Mulhouse in France 1995. The EUROFILLERS was formed by unification of the previous national conferences MOFFIS in France and FILPLAS in the United Kingdom. It was an immediate success, well attended and with an impressive number of quality papers covering a wide span of topics. The next meetings organized in Manchester two years and Lyon four years later continued the successful format and consolidated its position as the leading international conference for all aspects of short fiber and particulate filler research and development. The first EUROFILLERS outside of the founder countries United Kingdom and France was held in Lodz in Poland 2001. This showed that the EUROFILLERS was successful developed to a pan-European Conference. Since then, additional and very successful EUROFILLERS conferences were held in Alicante in Spain, Bruges in Belgium, Zalakros in Hungary and Alessandria in Italy. The EUROFILLERS 2011 was organized as a joint event of the Leibniz- Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden e.V. (Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden) and the Technische Universität Dresden (Dresden University of Technology).
About 180 delegates (including 64 PhDstudents) from 28 different countries from Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Australia participated in the EUROFILLERS 2011 Conference.
An overview of scientific success in different fields was given at 14 invited lectures. Special aspects of fillers and filled polymers were presented in 77 contributed lectures and 63 posters in 9 sections.
Filler Modification, Interfaces and Interphases
Fillers in Elastomers
Functional Fillers
Nanocomposites
Compounding and Properties
Rheology of Filled Polymers
Carbon Nanotubes
Biofillers/Filled Biopolymers
Processing and Applications of Filled Polymers

ISBN 1521-3900
