Title Einflüsse von Verarbeitung und Feuchtegehalt auf die tribologischen Eigenschaften von chemisch gekoppelten PTFE-PA-6.6-Materialien
Date 31.12.2005

Abstract Chemically bonded PTFE-polyamide materials (PTFE-PA) are the basis of a new material generation with special properties for tribological field of application. The excellent material and processing properties of PA are combined with the anti-friction properties of PTFE in these materials. The investigation of the influences of material and processing parameters during the production as well as the moisture content on the tribological properties of the chemically bonded PTFE-PA-6.6 materials is the focus of interest. The production and also the processing of these materials can be carried out with commercial thermoplastic equipment under polyamide processing conditions. Materials with contents of 0, 15, 30 and 50 wt-% of PTFE were produced by reactive extrusion. The mechanical and the tribological properties were investigated of dry and also of conditioned material samples. Surprisingly it could be shown that the material parameters, the processing conditions and also the degree of conditioning have nearly no influence on the tribological properties. Therefore the chemically bonded PTFE-PA-6.6 materials can be used with comparable properties at different climatic regions without problems.
