The network NanoCF is designed to exploit the potential of fluorinated nanocarbon materials for application in electronics, photonics, or biomedicine. A multidisciplinary approach will be applied ranging from fundamental research in chemistry and physics to studying the materials properties for technological innovation. It involves:
  • Synthesis of carbon-based materials of different forms and morphology
  • Modification by fluorination
  • Investigation of the effects of chemical modification to find a correlation btween different processing routes and the resulting structures
  • Study the chemical and physical properties of the fluorinated carbon
  • Evaluate their use as elements of nanoelectronics and optoelectronics , luminescent markers , active sensing layers and electrode coating
