Abstract Definition: Nanofiber-reinforced elastomers are composites consisting of an elastomeric matrix and fillers with nano-sized diameter and high aspect ratio, so-called nanofibers. Because of the anisotropy of the filler, the composites themselves show anisotropic properties. Depending on the desired application, this unique behavior contributes to the improvement of corresponding elastomeric components.

Encyclopedia of Polymeric Nanomaterials
ISBN 978-3642296475
