Responsive Soft and Hybrid Colloids

Both chemical and physical properties of interfaces as well as their spatial arrangement, dynamics and adaptivity are important for proper materials performances. We are developing modification schemes for the controlled large-scale design of libraries of soft and inorganic-organic hybrid colloids possessing controlled chemical functionalities, isotropic and anisotropic topologies, various shapes (spheres, platelets, rods, dumbbells, cubes), sizes, mechanical and elastic as well as responsive properties. For this controlled radical polymerisation, free radical polymerisation, and emulsion polymerisation routes are used.
