  • Anwendung neuartiger Synthesemethoden zum Aufbau von verzweigten Architekturen in einem oder mehreren Schritten, genaue Einstellung der Verzweigungsdichte und der Natur der Endgruppen
  • Ausnutzung des durch Verzweigung und erhöhte Funktionalität über die Endgruppen bestimmten Eigenschaftsprofils in Anwendungen wie Reaktivabmischungen (z.B. in Beschichtungen), als Funktionsmaterialien in dünnen Schichten oder beim Aufbau von Nanohybridmaterialien
  • Untersuchungen zur Anwendung von dendritischen Polymeren in der Biomedizin mit speziellem Fokus auf das Erreichen einer hohen Biokompatibilität z.B. durch Einführung einer Zuckerhülle (Glycopolymere) sowie das Erreichen und Verstehen von spezifischen biologischen Wechselwirkungen
