How to get to Dresden...

Dresden is situated in the East of Germany, not far from the Czech and Polish borders, and about 160 km south of Berlin.
An international airport links Dresden by direct connections with most German and many European cities.
The main railway station, which is in walking distance to the conference venue and to recommended hotels, is on the railway lines connecting Hamburg/Berlin with Prague/Vienna/ Budapest as well as Frankfurt am Main/Leipzig with Dresden.

How to get to the conference venue...

...if you arrive by airplane

Take the S-Bahn S2 which goes directly to Dresden downtown/main railway station Hauptbahnhof within 20 minutes. The train leaves every 30 minutes in the basement of the airport terminal. You have to buy a ticket at the ticket machine at the platform - Einzelfahrt EUR 1.80 - and invalidate it at a machine at the platform before you start the travel. ( It is valid within one hour after invalidation and allows also to change trains/busses/trams.)

From Dresden Hauptbahnhof you get to the conference venue by busses 72 and 76. Leave the station at the main exit "Ausgang 1" and take the one of the busses in the direction Coschütz/Gittersee or Mockritz. Leave two stops later at “Technische Universität”. The bus stop is just in front of the Hörsaalzentrum.
Upon registration in the conference office you will get a congress ticket for public transport  that you can use within Dresden during the whole duration of the meeting and for your departure to railway station or airport.

...if you come by car

The conference venue is not far (about 1.5 km) from the Exit Dresden-Südvorstadt of the Autobahn A 17. Just follow the signs to city centre and you get directly to Bergstraße (downhill) where the Hörsaalzentrum is situation at the left side before Fritz-Förster-Platz. You may recognize it by the pedestrians bridge crossing the Bergstraße in front of the Hörsaalzentrum.
