Melt modification reactions: chemical coupling of PTFE with polymers

  • (Advanced) development of chemically coupled (high performance) plastic PTFE materials, particularly for tribological applications
  • Development of specially modified PTFE nano/micro powders as additives for chemically coupled material systems as well as additives for special lubricants
  • Development of (bonded coating) lubricant systems for deformation processes

Polymeric membrane materials

  • Development of tailor-made membrane materials with high thermal, mechanical and chemical resistance, high selectivity at desired permeate flux
  • Controll of surface properties to reduce membrane fouling
  • Development of new membrane formation procedures

Thermo-controlled reactions

  • Development of shapeable powder coatings for pre-coating of semi-finished products (metal sheets or coil) and for the logistic redesign of technological processes
  • Development and modification of low-temperature cross-linking powder coating materials for application on SMC and wood materials
  • Determination of kinetic parameters and simulation of curing conditions on (two step curing) powder coatings
  • Development of substances and application technology for a permanent antistatic or conductivity finish of wood composites and plastic materials

  • Molecular structure determination of interfaces, also buried interfaces, by non-linear nanoparticle based FTIR spectroscopy
