Magneto-Sensitive Elastomers
Starting from 1st of December 2009, Mr. Dmytro Ivaneiko is a PhD student at the Department of Mechanics and Structure in the institute of Polymer Materials.
The topic of PhD studies is "Molecular based rheology of magneto-sensitive elastomers". These PhD studies are supported by the ECEMP International Graduate School at the TU Dresden.
Fields of Work
- nematic-isotropic phase transition in liquid crystals
- the influence of different types of disorder and frustration on critical behaviour of 3D magnets (Ising model, Heisenberg magnets, stacked triangular antiferromagnets, helimagnets)
- computer simulations of phase transitions in lattice models
- mechanical properties of magnetorheological elastomers
