International Bionic Award an Forscher aus dem IPF

Dr. Rene Hensel, Dr. Ralf Helbig, and Julia Nickerl are the winners of the first prize in this year's  International Bionic Award of the Schauenburg Foundation within the Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft.
The Prize was awarded by The Association of German Engineers (VDI) on October 24, 2014 and honours the excellent scientific work in the field of development of robust hydrophobic and oleophobic polymer membranes
mimicking skin structures of springtails (collembola).

Together with Prof. Carsten Werner (Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden e.V., IPF and Technische Universität Dresden) and Prof. Christoph Neinhuis (Technische Universität Dresden, Institute of Biology)
the researchers from the Institute of Biofunctional Polymer Materials of the IPF had already been awarded the Innovation Prize of the IPF, which is sponsored by Commerzban AG.
