The Institute Macromolecular Chemistry (IMC) at IPF Dresden focusses with its research activities on the development of new polymers which allow the entry into applications within the high-tech area. Aims are the exact tuning of architecture, functionality and nanostructure in polymeric materials, hybrids and composites as well as biohybrids using tailored syntheses. To achieve also a multi-functionality of polymers it is needed in addition to discover the relationships between chemical structure, architecture, and the nano-, meso-, and macroscopic material properties. IMC is working on these tasks within the departments Polymer Structures, Bioactive and Responsive Polymers, Functional Nanocomposites and Blends and Analytics.
