  • 2002-2004: Technische Universität Dresden, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Textile and Clothing Technology; 2004: Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Textile and Clothing Technology  

  • 2007-2009: Technische Universität Dresden, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences; 2009: PhD in Chemistry

  • 1988-1990: Scientific co-worker at the National Autonomic University Mexico, Mexico-City (Mexico)

  • 1991-2002: Research Engineer, Manager ‘Chemical Optimisation’, Technical Manager and Technical Consultant in several textile companies in Mexico and Bolivia

  • 2004 to present: Scientific co-worker  at the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden

Fields of Work

  • Topographic characterisation of polymer surfaces; topographic micro-defects and their influence on resulting quality of polymer surfaces
  • Physical-chemical characterisation of cotton and polyester textile materials: topography, morphology and wettability
  • Developing concepts and mathematical models to predict effects resulting from topographic changes on the behaviour of polymer and textile surfaces while detergency and drying
